Most records are available to the public in Montana, but they come at a cost. Prices range from 25 cents a page for an emailed copy of a court document to $50 for an annual tax report. Below are the prices for some commonly requested documents:
Certified birth and death certificate:
$12 for first copy, $5 for additional Marriage licenses: $5
Divorce decrees: $10
Search of county court records:
$2 per name for past seven years, $1 per name for each additional year
Hard copies of court records:
$1 per page for first 10 pages, 50 cents per page after that
Dept. of Administration records:
10 cents per page, $5 to burn to a CD
Electronic court records:
25 cents per page by email
Certified court records with seal:
$2 per document
Dept. of Motor Vehicle records:
$7.25 for search of database
Driving records: $4
Vehicle Registration: $2
Tax Records: $2 each, $50 for an annual report
